Fiona

I make site responsive artwork in order to question the way in which we look at the world around us. What might we not have noticed? Why has this been overlooked? I grew up in the country and began coming to terms with my urban lifestyle in London by finding beauty in decay. I find a poignant poetry in the places where nature is battling against the man-made. I Co-directed Construction Gallery in Tooting in 2012; a pop-up gallery on the high street, that responded to and challenged the local area, showcasing local talent. In 2011 I directed Market POST in Tooting Market where we made and showed art responding to the market itself, the people who visited it, and the surrounding area. I have done art residencies in Cordoba in Spain, at the Chinese Art Centre in Manchester, The Cylinders Estate in the Lake District, LV21 in Kent, and at Tokyo Wonder Site. I have a degree in Psychology from Cardiff University and gained First Class Honours in Fine Art: Painting at Wimbledon College of Art.
