Natasha Vicars
As an artist, my approach is to engage creatively in real world settings, with projects and performances that aim to create temporary communities. I'm also interested in shifting people’s experience of a particular place through my work. Participation and interaction with audiences are central to my practice, as are urban environments. I have recently worked collaboratively on Twitter performance writing projects with Seven Art Writers collective.
A recent project with Seven Art Writers, #dawnchorus365, was commissioned by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art as an OPEN ONLINE FOUR commission. Other Twitter-based performances with Seven Art Writers have recently been published in Performance Research Journal and the Live Art Almanac from Live Art Development Agency and Oberon Books. I have a BA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College, University of the Arts London, and a previous BA in Natural Sciences. Previous pieces have been shown as part of the Whitstable Biennale in Kent, in The Street Project from Whitechapel Gallery, at LIFT Molten with Fete Encounter and at Luaga & Losna Festival in Austria.
